Product Description
Model 8101
Born in the Australian Outback, the Kodiak Canvas Swag tent is a highly versatile, one-person, portable, sleep system. It is an advanced evolution of the traditional bedroll. Add a blanket or sleeping bag, and you have all you need to bed down. Unroll and set it up in a matter of minutes. It is six feet eight inches long and nearly three feet wide, providing a roomy sleeping space even for big guys. Use it on the ground, in the bed of a pickup, or with a compatible cot.*
It’s made with premium-grade, Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Unlike canvas tents of years past, our canvas will not wick water. Watertight and breathable, means you stay more comfortable. Aluminum alloy poles provide sturdy structure. The floor is a heavy-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. Unzip screened windows in the head and foot for air flow. These windows have small awnings over them so they can be opened even when it’s raining. When weather permits, roll the top cover back, and it’s like sleeping under the stars. The screen mesh keeps the bugs and critters out. Included is a 2-inch thick, open-cell, polyurethane foam mattress pad. The pad has a removable flannel cover that can be washed. When it’s time to move, the Swag packs up in no time—mattress pad, sleeping bag (sold separately), blankets and all. Everything is neatly rolled and ready for the next stop. When adventure calls, grab your swag and go.
*Will fit with an 85x40 inch cot.

Swag tent is great for hunting
I used my Swag during my September elk season. It is extremely comfortable and very warm. It rained for three days and I never got wet. Most nights I slept with the canvas cover unzipped because the swag holds heat so well I was getting to hot at night. The foam pad is very nice to sleep on. I would recommend the swag to anyone who wants the comfort of a canvas tent without the hassle of setting it up. Using the swag for hunting helps keep you mobile and is very comfortable.

Almost perfect
Spent 8 nights in this tent during the 2018 Rebelle Rally (team #184 @sass_quatch_rebelles) and many nights since. The tent is so easy to set-up and tear down that I managed both my teammate's and my tents in less time than other teams with those pop-up tents. We both slept amazingly thanks to one of the most comfortable sleep pads I've ever used. The tent was plenty long enough and wide enough for my 6ft tall frame. I wish the tension pole had been included rather than an optional extra. The placement of the center tent pole is awkward, it needs to be further towards the feet and also attached to the outside of the tent. The only other slightly annoying thing is that I can't sit up inside the tent. I slept in the tent again recently and still think that the quality of sleep far outweighs my few minor annoyances.

Feels solid
I haven’t actually used it yet but I set it up and it looks and feels really well built with lots of overlapping material around the portion of the zipper that goes over your head, hopefully keeping the rain away. The middle poles and foot poles are really close to the same size so I numbered mine for easy ID. And the sleeve inside at the head of the tent for the poles is a really nice touch. I do wish the bag for it was a bit bigger though. Once you put a sleeping bag and pillow in there it’s really tough to get it rolled up tight enough to get it back in there and its so overstuffed zipping it up is impossible. Overall, I’m confident that this will last me many years and do well in many climates.

Swag single person tent
Great tent overall. Clean, easy setup. Very comfortable and retains body heat due to small size. The add-on pole that stabilizes the ends, really should be an included piece, giving the option to use the pole or tie-downs. Not sure what the rating is for being waterproof or just water resistant, but there appears to be many micro fabric holes. Probably doesn't prevent rain water from seeping in. Regardless, it very comfortable and is overall a great single person tent! Would recommend to other campers/overlanders! ********** Hey John --thanks for the review. Those micro holes seal up after the canvas is seasoned. Our hydra-shield canvas has superb waterproofing. You should not have a drop of water on the inside.

So close to perfect.
Great tent, very cozy, very dry, very comfortable, and SUPER EASY TO PITCH! The only thing that keeps it from being perfect is that the window near your head doesn't completely open. The canvas part will open but the mesh isn't zippered. This one change would make a serious difference in the tent's versatility.

1-person Kodiak Canvas Swag tent great in the cold
I tried out my new Kodiak Canvas Swag 1-person tent in the backyard the last two nights (approx. 24 and 22 F). I was very pleased with how warm and well I slept. I've tried sleeping in a non-heated tent in the cold previously without being very comfortable albeit having been a bit colder. All I can surmise is that the smaller volume and perhaps the tent fabric hold the body heat much better than the other tents I've tried. (The vents were partly open as recommended. There are supposed to be a few colder nights still coming, in which case I'll try it again.) The mat in the Swag provides comfortable support, and the frozen snow and ground under the Swag showed very little melting after the night's sleep.

Swag is the bomb
I use this when camping solo or not taking the big tent. Held up fine in rain and cold Colorado mornings with frosty conditions. It’s a warm place to sleep, not much more. Sets up and takes down quickly. I do have a cot that it fits onto, so keeps me off the ground, and provides a little space to store stuff under the cot. No complaints. With work, yes, it will go back into the bag...with work. Great swag!

Swag Tent
I have used several different "Bed rolls" over the years. I can honestly say the design and function of the Swag tent/bed roll is amazing! I have only taken it out a few times since purchase but it has performed great through all the elements throw at it. The quality and construction are great.
