Model 8101. Born in the Australian Outback, the Kodiak Canvas Swag tent is a highly versatile, one-person, portable, sleep system. It is an advanced evolution of the traditional bedroll. Add a blanket or sleeping bag, and you have all you need to bed down. Unroll and set it up in a matter of minutes. It is six feet eight inches long and nearly three feet wide, providing a roomy sleeping space even for big guys. Use it on the ground, in the bed of a pickup, or with a compatible cot.*

It’s made with premium-grade, Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Unlike canvas tents of years past, our canvas will not wick water. Watertight and breathable, means you stay more comfortable. Aluminum alloy poles provide sturdy structure. The floor is a heavy-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. Unzip screened windows in the head and foot for air flow. These windows have small awnings over them so they can be opened even when it’s raining. When weather permits, roll the top cover back, and it’s like sleeping under the stars. The screen mesh keeps the bugs and critters out. Included is a 2-inch thick, open-cell, polyurethane foam mattress pad. The pad has a removable flannel cover that can be washed. When it’s time to move, the Swag packs up in no time—mattress pad, sleeping bag (sold separately), blankets and all. Everything is neatly rolled and ready for the next stop. When adventure calls, grab your swag and go.

    Swag tent

Great product, only change i would improve on is making the verticle bug screen at tge head to have a zipper to fold down just like the top part. This woukd allow you to grab items you may have staged just outside the tent and would make an excellent prone shooting blind allowing you to fire your rifle from.

    Almost perfect

Posted by Nathan on 25th Jul 2021

Now that I've used it a couple times, I can say that I almost totally love this tent. It's quick to setup, holds up well in the rain, and is surprisingly warm, but can vent incredibly well if needed to. A note about drying out: always remove the pad. Because the base is basically a water tight boat, any moisture that seeps down the sides will stay there until the pad is removed. The biggest issue is the damn center pole. Everything about it feels half baked: the chintsy velcro that you use to hold it in place, the fact that it's almost as small as the smallest pole (I marked mine with some tape to differentiate,) and the internal anchor points are starting to rub the base material in ways that I find concerning (I put felt pads to to ease with wear, but we'll see how long they last. If Kodiak read these and are open to feedback, I have a couple ideas: 1. Ditch the velcro and put a damn sleeve in for the center pole. 2. Use more excess material when attaching the center anchor point so that the flaps come up on both sides to prevent rubbing Other than those quibbles, these tent has been amazing and I hope it'll last me for a long while

    Great tent alternative

Posted by Pier Sanna on 13th May 2021

Makes packing a vehicle to overland much easier - it goes on the roof, isn't heavy and the set up / take down takes 3-4 minutes. It held to ground in 50 MPH winds (Vantage WA). Leaving the end vents open keeps the interior from getting stuffy. Great buy!

Kodiak SWAG 1 person canvas tent

Posted by Jon R on 14th Jan 2021

I set this tent up in under 5 minutes and have already used it. The foam mat is comfortable and it’s surprisingly roomy! Once properly staked and tied out with provided guy lines, I had no problem in high winds and even accumulating snow. I did get the tension rod for additional support, and that made it even more sturdy during the high winds. The quality is impeccable. Really impressed with this product.

    Canvas swag

Posted by Jesse Moser on 13th Oct 2020

This is my first Canvas tent. This particular tent was very easy to set up. I went through the seasoning process as per the instructions and had it set up outside for quite a while. I left it out in some heavy rain during one weekend and was rather impressed that the inside stayed dry after the rain had subsided! I look forward to purchasing one of their larger tents in the future!

    Awesome Tent

Posted by Payton McCumby on 9th Oct 2020

I recently picked this up so I didn’t have to haul my flex blow around every time I wanted to camp. Sometimes I like to take my dog (Australian Shepherd) and go in the back country set something up quick and take it down quick. That’s exactly what this tent is all about, I went up to Flagstaff, AZ and the temperature got down to 39 degrees and typical with my flex bow I would bring a buddy heater but with the swag i didn’t get into my sleeping bag until about 2 AM. Everything about kodiak is premium the canvas keeps you warm and the mattress it comes with is amazing I never felt uncomfortable the entire night. There was enough too for a medium sized dog. Things I would like to see in the future -the middle pole set I would love to see on the outside of the tent. That could help with mesh from sagging down and it would make it way easier to set up - I would like to see the middle extension pole included in the set, I am currently still waiting for kodiak to get some in stock - You have to come out with a double swag in the future, my wife and I would love to just take something like that out and honestly I would have just bought a double swag instead. Overall great tent for ease of use, comfortable and lightweight.
