Based on the number of requests we received for a more basic, lighter-weight sleeping bag, we figured we should probably add one to our line-up. So here it is! Our new Kodiak Canvas +30° (Fahrenheit) Rectangle Sleeping Bag.
Keeping true to our Kodiak Canvas standards, this bag is constructed with premium materials - and while more basic than our premier Z Top bags, it's still loaded with features. This traditional rectangle-shaped bag features a rugged 100% cotton canvas shell, and a soft 100% cotton flannel liner. The warm Factor 4™, hollow, poly-fiber, insulation is light and fluffy. The locking zipper stays put until you tug on the zipper pull. This keeps the bag from unexpectedly coming unzipped in the night. A zipper at the foot of the bag allows you to vent the bottom when needed. Zip two of these bags together for an oversized bag ideal for two. Roll up the bag and secure it with handy compression straps and snap buckles. A canvas carry bag is included.
This Small/Medium size sleeping bag will comfortably accommodate sleepers up to 5 ft 10 inches tall and 220 lbs.

Great durable sleeping bag zippers are smooth and warm
I purchased this in December of 2022 and have been using it both as a sleeping bag and blanket since it arrived. The interior lining is comfortable, the shell is quite durable, and it is very warm. However, the zipper is Terrible. It is made of very light material (not even sure it is metal), it doesn't operate smoothly, and binds multiple times opening and closing. This bag would be a 5+ star with a better zipper, but with the zipper it's only really useful as a blanket.
I’m a fan of the Kodiak brand. I like the sleeping bag. I would like to see a heavier zipper. More temperature rating options in a traditional bag would be great. But I still like the products and will continue to buy.
I gave this sleeping bag a try after being a fan of my Kodiak tent for a couple of years. I slept two nights in 40 degree weather inside the canvas tent with this sleeping bag. The pros: it's warm and cozy, and it can breathe. This is unlike other sleeping bags, that don't breathe and make me feel sweaty at night. This was was heaven. It is also large so I can move around and I don't feel like a snake shedding skin when I am sleeping. Cons: it is large and heavier to pack, as you would expect. So for me, more of a car camping go-to bag. Also, the size means that it will overflow most sleeping pads. So as long as you are sleeping on a mattress or cot, it works. For the price, this was a great option for me and I now look forward to a great night sleep. Five stars from me for what they advertise and I recommend it!
