Model 1604

The wing vestibule accessory will enhance your awning’s leisure area by providing additional shade, and protection from wind and rain. It attaches underneath the front of the awning and extends out to the ground. Two side wings provide additional cover on the sides. It creates a nice space to store gear, put some chairs, or keep a pet. It also adds privacy if the front windows are open. Made with the same cotton canvas as our tents. Fits all Kodiak Canvas 10x14 Flex-bow tents. Note: Depending on your tent, you may be required to add two grommets* to your awning for optimal fit. The wing vestibule does not fully enclose the awning area. There will be openings on both sides. A 10x14 Flex-Bow tent is required to use this accessory item.

*Grommet kits are available at most home improvement stores or at other online retailers.

Pack Weight: Approx. 9 lbs.

This item is also available as part of a bundled kit that includes the tent, wing vestibule, floor liner and tarp. For the B66043 10x14 VX Flex-Bow bundle, click here. For the B46014 10x10 Deluxe Flex-Bow bundle, click here

    Must haves! (3)

First off, this 10x14vx is every bit of the hype that you see in any reviews, quality is absolutely amazing! Seasoning it now for break in this coming weekend. Back to the vestibule rating, I contemplated of I truly needed it... I truly didn't. Truly wanted it tho and that won it over lol. Could not be more impressed or happy with that decision. The room it adds as cover is far greater than I originally thought it would be and it literally drops over the tension bar and 7 stakes to the ground, 3min worth of effort for the comfort it brings over the coming days. I ordered an extra set of organizers specifically to hang on the tension bar and they slip over the ends of the bar perfectly! Now hanging storage outside to keep the family traffic down in the tent

    Vestibule

Nice, only bitch, I had to cut my own holes and get brass grommets from Home Depot and install them as instructed, Would really be great if this was done prior to receiving the product. Works great though when camping and you need some privacy area out side of your door, especially if you're camping next to a well traveled road, no one can see beyond it.

This really compliments and completes our tent. Adds privacy, blocks the elements, adds storage space. Love it, thank you

    Fit is suspect

Posted by Steve Turbin on 1st Jan 2020

The concept is great, but there have been issues with how this fits. The company was helpful in working to resolve the issue, but still haven't got either of the vestibules I have to work correctly. Here are my concerns: 1) most significant is the tension between the awning poles; the first vestibule was the wrong size & the center sagged significantly. During rainstorms, the water weights down the awning, creating a waterfall between the vestibule & awning. 2) There needs to be some other way to overlap the awning; again during rain, the suggested amount of material to use for this purpose doesn't work sufficiently. Moving the self-installed grommets to allow for more overlap shrinks an already small area. 3) The vestibule/awning ridge pole is difficult to tension with one person. As I've expressed previously, the challenge to get this so there isn't a sag in the awning needs to be quite taunt, & doing this during a single person set up is difficult. 4) And echoing the comment from a previous reviewer, yes, the stakes supplied are not adequate. These should be the same as those for the tent. While the material is lighter, the tension to get anywhere close to pulling things as tight as they need to be is significant. ****** Thanks for the detailed review and suggestions Steve. Pooling water is easy. As per the instructions, lower one corner of the awning by slanting an awning pole. We will look into the other. Thanks, Kodiak Canvas

Haven't used it yet but I did set it up

I bought this to go with the VX 10x14 tent and it looks great!! I love the quality of the products and the ease of setting everything up is awesome! I'm going to review the tent next because it's clear why these products are top of the line!

    Stakes

Posted by ron garbutt on 6th Jul 2017

This item works very well as a windbreak, privacy shield and storage area. The only negative is the stakes are too small.. If the heavy duty tent stakes had been issued for this product in lieu of the smaller lightweight stakes it would have been a 5 star review. We had some heavy winds and the small stakes would not hold. The tent with the heavy stakes gave no problem.
