this tent is amazing and easily set up with 1 person. Super high quality, spacious, be the envy of all your camping/ hunting friends.
The tent performed great! Plenty of room for out family of five. Had a few sprinkles, but no major rain yet to test it. I did a thorough watering with a hose though and had no leaks. Fairly easy to set up. My one critique would be to change the storm window securing clips from a thread-thru, to a more “S” clip style. That way, you can leave all the guy lines around the tent with a loop permanently tied in the end. I am just using a zip tie to attach the clip right now.
I purchased this tent for upcoming family camping and hunting trips. I found the staff easy to work with via email. I purchased this tent along with the awning and ground mat. Originally, I forgot to order the mat, so I placed it as a second order with a note to combine them for shipping. They followed the note, which is great. On orders from multiple other websites I find most of the time my notes get ignored.
I purchased this tent knowing that I may take this on month-long solo hunts out west. Although the directions say you need 2 people…. You don’t.
Setup of the tent took me 25 minutes from start to finish. This included reading the directions and not rushing anything. I’d say the most time-consuming part was pounding stakes. The directions states you should have 2 people to put up the center support, but if you put the rod through the middle, then put the ends on with one staked out, you can get it up easily.
The setup of the front room took me 45 minutes to put up. Again, the directions say you need 2 people… You don’t, but it will take ¼ the time with 2 people. There is quite a lot of Velcro that holds the front room to the tent/supports. I have never been fond of Velcro, but the design seemed to work well.
My takedown pace was very relaxed. The front room took all of 25 minutes. The tent took 40 minutes. This included the time to put everything in bags and zip up. The awning went in its bag with room to spare. I know I folded it wrong because I had a foot of space in the bag. The zipper was tight in areas, but I just need to understand the folding pattern better.
Now, the tent itself… I folded it like a letter. Folding one way, then again in the same manner. Doing this I ended up with a square. The length of this was perfect for the bag length. Then I rolled the tent to get it into the bag. I would say it took me 10 minutes to get the tent into the bag, even with it fitting lengthwise perfectly. I had to work between squishing the air out and then trying to zipper and repeat… It was a challenge, but I got it.
I liked the tent but haven’t had a chance to use the stove jack yet. It went up easily and came down easily. Since I put the tent on a hill, I did not have a hose present to soak it. Instead I filled a cooler and tried throwing water on it. The water just shed right off.
There is a design issue I have with the front room. If someone stakes it down all the way around you can’t get into the front room, from outside, without moving the center end-support out of the way. A D-style door mimicking the tent, would have been nice here.
I absolutely love this tent first time setting it up went pretty quick and easy, instructions say it's a 2 person job but i did it alone without any problems. I would definitely recommend this tent
Have been using this tent for about a year. Had it set up for 5 weeks during Oct & Nov in Montana. and have used it on 3 long weekend trips. this is 1 of 2 Kodiak Canvas tents that I own and I am very happy with them the have both been through some fairly punishing weather and other than a little dirty they are still like new. I set this one up in about 30 min by myself with no problem. I cannot recommend their products enough. only thing that sucks is that in cold temps the floor is stiff and in no way fitting in the bag. That is a small non issue for me. the tents take a beating and just keep going.
Love it, lots of room! Also purchased the awning kit for it! It didnt take long to put up either super easy and fast compared to our other wall tent! Love that it has a full floor built in! Amazing product! Thank you for our awesome glamping days to come!
This tent is pretty awesome. Have had it set up for 7 days. Has gone through three days of heavy rain, over 7 total inches in that time span. No leaks at all in the tent. It's bone dry. Set up was easy.
It has a ton of room. I have two sets of Disc O Bed cots in it and still have room for wood stove and room to move around. Four grown men could be comfortable with this set up, no sweat.
Hope you come out with a 14x14 with 5 foot side walls.
Tent appears to be high quality. The roof and walls are different thicknesses of a canvas but I’m sure adequate. I set this up in 30 min by myself. The tent stakes are nice and heavy and poles have a metal cable inside instead of the bungee cord type connection other type tent poles. The tent is heavy but wish the carry back was thicker. I don’t think the carry bag will last vary long but it’s easy to fold up and get inside. But if you buy this tent, you will have one bag w the tent and one bag with the poles. The canopy attachment is a treat to put up. U can do it alone but highly recommend two people. The directions on that could be improved but once you put it together the instructions then make sense. Definitely glad I got it but wish the side walls were maybe a foot taller and the canopy was 12x8 instead of 8x8. But nice tent.
This tent is the perfect addition for our hunting camp. So much room and super durable!
