This is a magnificany tent. Ive owned too many tents to count in my life. The quality of this unit is unmatched. It is crazy easy to put up and amazingly sturdy. Happy to say I am out of the tent buying business.
everything was great. thanks!
I purchased the equivalent of this tent in about 1980, about 40 years ago. The Kodiak has several improvements made over that original tent which I think make it even better. My tent is still in very good usable shape. It has withstood winds and gusts sustained in the 40 mph gusting to over 60 mph without problems. Almost all of the other tents in the campground were blown over with many sustaining damage. We have had many great experiences using this tent with our large family. I would recommend these tents to anyone.
One of the friends that helped my son on a sheep hunt had a Kodiak 10 x 14 bow flex and when I seen how easy it was to set up and tear down and how sturdy it was, I knew that I needed one not only for myself but several more for my outfitting business. The tents I bought are so comfortable on the early hunts and all the way to the late hunts in December. It was a very good investment.
Like most that have reviewed these tents, I'm very happy with the materials & construction. I've had mine now for a couple years, & so far, it seems to be holding up quite well. The reason for the 4 star rating is the awning design/location. Due to it being below the crest of the tent, & just slightly lower than the end of the awning when extended, it tends to create a pool during rains. My suggestion is to move the awning location to the end, similar to what is done with your cabin tents. I think this would put the portion of the awning that comes off the tent at a higher point allowing for the precip to run off easily. There would still be ample area for an awning (might need to be angled out slightly), & simple modifications could be made to the vestibule design to accommodate the change. ***** Thanks so much for the honest review Steve. As per the owners manual, you need to lower one corner of the awning by slanting an awning pole when there is precipitation. Do that and water will not pool. I will run of the low corner. When sunny, stand the awning high in shade mode.
This tent was excellent. The first night in elk camp, we received a foot of snow and it held up perfect. With a small buddy heater this tent was warm and dry all elk season long.
The roof of the camp tore the 1st time I tried to put it together I've been camping since 4th grade my wife also has been campy from most of her adult life we followed the instructions watched YouTube reviews before putting it together the roof was a simple instruction the 2 black holes that connected the T-bar one Pole slipped during the pressing down and tore when pressing down firmly and tore the canvas top. **** Not sure what happened here Arthur. Please get ahold of our great customer service team to help you get this taken care of. Kodiak Canvas
The best tent that I have ever purchased. It has been used in the High Sierras for 3 deer seasons and last year was used in Colorado also. Kept out rain and snow and vents really well. Awesome product!
I've wanted a high quality canvas tent for some time now, and Kodiak didn't disappoint! Took my two boys camping in the 10 X 14 Flex-Bow, and we were very dry and comfortable despite the cold wet weather. Can't wait to use it again, and they have excellent customer service to boot!
