I have purchased another tent (Coleman) before purchasing this tent. After all I hesitated to buy an expensive tent from a beginning. I ceased to use the first tent after having purchased this tent. This is because it does not feel happy even if it camps any place other than this tent. There are tents in the United States that are similar in design to the Kodiak tent. I felt that the tent was not realistic because it was very expensive. The Kodiak tent is sewing by China, but quality control was very well. My company has a factory of China, but I know that it is a way of the management of the China factory not a product made in China being bad. It is not bad to purchase a good products at a low price. I knew that you should do a season before using it for the first time, but used it by camping without doing it. I was able to set it up in a shorter time than the normal tent which used several poles. The setup of the tent is very fun, but it is very splendid that time to play increased in families. It was the forecast of the passing shower, but it was a storm in early in the morning. However, this tent let a 4-hour thunderstorm go past without leaking. Because sewing was careful as for this, there was no approach of the rainwater. My family frowned that I had purchased an expensive tent, but I was blamed by a family why you purchased the first tent in the way back. I can promise to find happiness by purchasing Kodiak tent before spending useless money. I am very happy to buy this tent. I want to enjoy winter camp from now on.
I first saw this tent when I was out camping with a buddy. he had bought one at cabelas, but after i took a tour - I was instantly hooked. I was impressed with the craftsmanship and the durability. All of a sudden my $250 northface tent lost most of its appeal. I had been camping with my girl, my 2 dogs (one is an airedale) and myself (a 5'10" 225 lb man) in a 2 person tent. it was time to upgrade. i bought this tent the following week. that being said - its heavy as hell, but if you're car camping it doesnt matter. my buddy said he had one regret - that he didnt buy the one with "extra windows." as is customary between me and my bro - i had to one up him and get the one with the windows. TOTALLY WORTH IT. **pro tip get yourself a proper hammer too to bang those thicc stakes into the ground. **second protip - get yourself a nice string of solar lights for the front awning - 20ft was enough for me to hit it up. i love this tent. more so - i love the customer service that has come with it. I had an issue and it was quickly, compassionately, and promptly resolved. i cant say enough about this company. they stand behind their products. i hope to acquire the sleeping bag somewhere down the line when im able to financially recover from investing in the tent. just kidding. but seriously i have a problem with buying gear, so i have to be a bit sneaky from the Mrs :) theres a reason this tent has all 5 star reviews - kodiak isnt cherry picking them - its just seriously that good. the only issue i had, but not worth deducting a star is that i didnt feel the ground tarp that was included was exactly the same size as the tent. i was not able to fully stretch out the canvas to meet the same loops on the tarp. so i had to do my best to lay the footprint and then stretch the tent to be fully taut. did i do something wrong? ***** Thanks Chris for your honest review. The ground tarp is slightly smaller than the tent by design. You we don't want water coming off the tent and hitting the ground tarp. The loops are not made to line up. Regarding the hammer we suggest a good rubber mallet. Happy Camping KC
We absolutely love this tent. It feels like we're cheating as it is more like glamping to us. The ease of putting it up, taking it down and wrapping it up cannot be stated enough. I'm 5'2" and I have put this tent up by myself, no problem. When we ran into an issue with the tent, because stuff happens, the Kodiak customer service was awesome. The team was quick to respond and to resolve our problem. I was thoroughly impressed and can now honestly recommend this tent and company to anyone! Get it, you won't regret it!
Quality design, materials and construction. Did not find any flaws or imperfections with my tent, poles, stakes, storage bags, or ground tarp. Set up was easy but not quick for one person. Same with takedown. I expect this tent will be a pleasure to camp in for many years to come. Thanks Kodiak Canvas!
The best investment
A great tent. Additional side vents on the VX provide nice ventilation. Held up to intense rainstorms with zero water inside. My only negative is on me for not getting the larger size. Two queens fit but tight in the 10x10. The 10x14 would have been perfect. Though none of the 10x14 were available a time of ordering...so I suppose that’s on Kodiak.
3 of our friends have had these tents for years and we finally decided to invest in one ourselves. Best money spent! We had a slight hiccup with our shipping but it was turned around so quickly once realized and not at our expense. Thank you so much for wonderful customer service and for such a well crafted, solid tent that's easy to set up. Our first trip was on the west coast of BC and we were super cozy and dry. The extra windows were well worth the upgrade!
I very rarely take the time to write reviews, and when I do, it is only after thoroughly getting to know the product in question. My wife and I bought a Kodiak 10x10 Flexbow tent in the spring of 2016. We spend as many weekends (and sometimes weeks) as we possibly can in the woods. We are not huge hikers, but we prefer to be as far away from other people as we can be on our excursions; to this end a tent thrown in the back of the 4X4 is way more advantageous than any form of "camper". Living in Idaho, and not cutting our trips to a few short "summer" months meant a sturdy, most-seasons, tent was what we needed. We have used this thing dozens and dozens of times, in wind, rain, hail, and even light snow, and I honestly do not think there has been a single trip where we have not, at some point, looked at each other and said "I LOVE this tent!" We've had it in winds over 50 mph and were not bothered with worries. We've had in torrential rains and nothing inside has ever gotten wet. I have never had ANY other tent I can say either of those things about. Highly recommend both, the full windows option, and the vestibule. Set up is easier than you would think it would be, and I use a 3 pound sledge for the stakes, which will penetrate dang near anything! WE LOVE THIS TENT!!
