Every aspect of this tent seems like it was thought out with agonizing care and attention to function, durability, and a classic timeless style. Went from a lightweight backpacker tent to this 60 lb beast and have never looked back. Though it does weight quite a bit, for car based camping the extra size and incredible ease of setup makes the entire experience an absolute pleasure. We’ve been finding every excuse to get outdoors with our Kodiak Canvas tent as much as possible now. If I could rate it higher than 5/5 I would.
Bought this tent in the beginning of the Covid virus. We used it 5 times without issue. Last time out we noticed the vinyl bottom was beginning to unravel inside itself. It was very strange. We took pics of the tent body as we were putting it away in hopes of getting an explanation of what is happening. I spoke with Jon and Daxton making sure they got the pics and all the required info they asked for. A detailed description was requested by Daxton concerning the issue. About a week later, we got a text from Daxton saying Kodiak Canvas will warranty the tent body and will be replacing it with a new one. I was like "ALRIGHT!!! That is customer service" Jon and Daxton asked for quite a bit of information prior to making their decision, in which they should. Jon and Daxton took care of business. We are customers for life. Thanks!!!!!
I will be putting my comments as to my opinion on this tent on reddit car camping. I should add I am 74 years of age and looking forward to the onset of Spring weather. Even with Covid my wife and I will travel and camp extensively in 2021.
Obvious quality and very well thought out. Looking forward to many hunting seasons in it.
Absolutely the best tent I’ve ever owned. First trip was to Mt Charleston Nevada in November. First night was fine, then the angry winds and snow started. Although, there were some scary moments, the tent held firm. At one point though one of the loops came off the stake, and I had to go out and pound it down a bit more. Held up great after that with a lot of wind and snow coming down. Would recommend this to anyone. The canvas brought back many memories of my military days spending a lot of time in the huge canvas tents used by the military.
Very easy to set up quality seems to be excellent have not had it out in bad weather yet but it looks to be very durable
Tired of crawling in and out of our 2 person tent, we researched and found this tent and it is perfect. Walking upright, in and out of the tent is a major plus. There is plenty of room from two cots and camping gear. Fairly easy to set up. The only difficult part is setting the side poles, for those of us with arthritis. We are enjoying camping again.
I have purchased another tent (Coleman) before purchasing this tent. After all I hesitated to buy an expensive tent from a beginning. I ceased to use the first tent after having purchased this tent. This is because it does not feel happy even if it camps any place other than this tent. There are tents in the United States that are similar in design to the Kodiak tent. I felt that the tent was not realistic because it was very expensive. The Kodiak tent is sewing by China, but quality control was very well. My company has a factory of China, but I know that it is a way of the management of the China factory not a product made in China being bad. It is not bad to purchase a good products at a low price. I knew that you should do a season before using it for the first time, but used it by camping without doing it. I was able to set it up in a shorter time than the normal tent which used several poles. The setup of the tent is very fun, but it is very splendid that time to play increased in families. It was the forecast of the passing shower, but it was a storm in early in the morning. However, this tent let a 4-hour thunderstorm go past without leaking. Because sewing was careful as for this, there was no approach of the rainwater. My family frowned that I had purchased an expensive tent, but I was blamed by a family why you purchased the first tent in the way back. I can promise to find happiness by purchasing Kodiak tent before spending useless money. I am very happy to buy this tent. I want to enjoy winter camp from now on.
